Hey all I'm like mezmorized by the not teller's they got out there and was wondering if anyone had one they'd be willing to sell or if anyone knew where to get a cheap price on one. The cheapest I've seen is $295 and that's like crazy! so yeah if anyone knows please reply or email me thanks.

It's like a little machine where you put your dollar into it and it speaks the denomination of money that it is.

$200, is about right. There was one in I think it was either maxi aids, or LS&S for that much. That's really nothing though, compared to what they used to be.
When I first heard of them, and learned to use one, they were about $700.

yep, $200 sounds about right...I've seen one of those things too, they're awesome! It's not just money they read either, the one I saw read lots of other stuff like...I think that was the one that read perscription medication!

If you have Kurzweil or Openbook, it can identify your bills for you too.

yeh i'd like to get one of those things too! i have to say from an english persons perspective! the bills over here are frigging useless! in the UK all of our notes are different sizes so we have no need for note tellers! but you definitely do over here as all the bills are exactly the same size!

this is something the US have fallen down on as far as access for blind people is concerned. generally access for blind/disabled people in the US is far better than that in The UK. though they manage to forget the one most important thing accessible to blind people, and that's their currency, well done America! sorry, rant over with, but I remember going to the US a few months back and had terrible trouble with the diffrent bills. sort it!

they sound interesting but a waste of money if you were taught to fold your money a certain way.

your getting ahead of yourself a bit there though aren't you? because to fold your money a certain way you have to know exactly what it is your folding in the first place! you can't just assume that you'll always have somebody around with you to tell you what everything is and without that assistance those things sure aren't a waist of money at all!

so ... who's going to buy me one? hehehe

Siobhan, You better be ready to buy him one! yaaay! smiles! Anyway, Nat, Nemoy, had one that was a color and money identifier. It was handy! When he first got it, I didn't think I would use the color part much. I used it more than the money part. I think he got it from Maxiads for like two hundred and some!
